About you

You possess a M.Sc., Ph.D., or PostDoc level in biotechnology, chemical engineering, biology, bio-business development, or a related field.

I’ve been working on our startup for a while, should I still sign up?Yes, we welcome founders with developed ideas, but if you already have a an established and registered company this opportunity not for you.

Do I need a holding company?If your startup is selected for funding you will likely need a holding company. If you do not already have one we can help you set one up in Denmark.

Can I own a Danish company if I'm not Danish?The newly formed company will be established and registered in Denmark. If you are an EU citizen it is possible to own a Danish company, however you need to register a holding company to own the operating company. We will help you set up both the holding and operating company.

When will I know if I'm accepted?Deadline for applications is 19th of February, 2024. We will carefully review your application and get back to you latest end of February. If successful, you will be invited to the Ideation Weekend on March 16th - 17th, 2024 in Copenhagen.

Can I sign up without an idea?Yes, most people who participate don't have an idea to start with. We will host iterative ideation sessions at the Kick-off weekend where you get to explore a bunch of ideas revolving around real world problems and market needs. You can also join with an idea and potentially find your co-founders and funding you've need to kick off your venture.

Can I have a job while being part of the Venture Creation Studio?We expect you to work full-time on your startup.

What is meant by bioindustrial solutions?The Venture Creation Studio is focused on solving the planet's sustainability problems using bioindustrial solutions. By bioindustrial solutions we aim to develop sustainable solutions that can address climate change, supply chain issues, and enable a circular economy. Industrial biotech is already or will soon have an impact in industries, such as agriculture, food systems, petrochemicals, health and beauty. We do not aim to develop new therapeutics, medtech or pharma-related products.

Who decides who gets funded?We have an external panel, mostly made up of biotech experts and investors, who will help us select the startup that receives funding.
